I Mamuthones e gli Issohadores sono maschere tipiche del carnevale di Mamoiada in Sardegna. Le due figure si distinguono per i vestiti e per il modo di muoversi all'interno della processione: i Mamuthones procedono affaticati e in silenzio mentre gli Issohadores vestono in modo colorato e danno movimento alla processione. Il nome Mamuthone è un enigma. I pareri sono diversi ed esistono varie ipotesi: c’è chi lo collega semplicemente al nome stesso del paese, in origine una fontana, chi ad altri riferimenti toponomastici, chi risale ad altre civiltà e antichi riti, altri ancora richiamano i nomi degli spaventapasseri, degli idoli bacchici ed esseri spaventevoli della leggenda popolare comuni in tutta la Sardegna.
